FAQ

1) Can you engrave any photograph?
All photographs can be engraved, but the engraved quality depends on the quality of the image provided. For best results, please provide a photo/image where the main subject is large , clear and in focus. Shadows across the front of the face can cause problems. Best results as see when the face is bright and eyes visible. For digital images, take your photo at the highest resolution and e-mail the original image to us. The larger the printed photo the better the engraving.

For engraving images of people, it is best to have close-ups of the head and shoulders so that the photograph has good definition of the face and eyes. Black and white photographs also work just fine. Very small photograph's or photo's where the main feature is far away can cause a challenge...however just send them on to us with your contact details and we will call you to see what is possible.

 

2) How do I get my images to you?
You can post your photograph to our address below. If you have the image on Jpeg file you can e-mail it to info@kirwancraft.com.
Note: We will return all photographs when we ship the product to you.

 

3) What resolution does my Jpeg file need to be?
Ideally 300Dpi is great…but 200 Dpi and lower will also work.

 

4) How do I pay for my order?
You can pay using the Paypal ordering process on this site…just click ‘Add to Cart ’ on the item you wish to purchase and follow the instructions. You do not need your own paypal account for this…just a valid Credit Card.
You can also pay directly by cheque or Bank Draft made payable to KirwanCraft. Send the cheque or draft to our address below, but make sure to state your details and order information.

 

5) How long will it take for delivery?
Typically orders are completed and shipped within 7-10 days. If you have an urgent delivery, please call us and we should be able to speed things up.

 

6) What happens If I’m not happy with my purchase?
If you are not satisfied with your product, just send it back to us within 10 days and we will refund you the purchase price.

 

7). What about copyright of images?
It is your responsibility to ensure that the images you provide are free of copyright.

 

8). Can you manipulate the image i.e. remove background , other people, etc.
Yes we can manipulate the image. We typically 'blow-up' the image to the correct size for the wood and crop to get the right proportions. We can remove the background if you require. It is possible to do other modifications...please call or e-mail and we will see what is possible.
